Racing Format

Slot car racing as you will find out is a very skilful hobby. It can be competitive with close racing, but above all, you need to remember it is just a bit of fun. You don't have to be the "Schumacher of Slot" to enjoy slot racing , you can enjoyment from racing at the level that you feel most confident.

Racing is organised every Wednesday night, 20:30 start, with guaranteed racing. The Club championship is run throughout the year. The club championship lasts the full year, with 8 rounds for each class with best 5 weeks counting

At Oaklands we only race Falcon powered cars using a standard 2 piece chassis. F1 uses an open choice of chassis with only a falcon motor allowed.

The Oaklands club races to Sprint racing with heats lasting three minutes. With different classes of racing, we race to different formats.

1/32nd F1

Each driver completes four runs, one on each lane, with the best 2 scores counting into move up finals.

1/32nd Sports

Each driver will then have 8x3minutes segmented runs, with only 4 lanes at a time. Reseeding of drivers at half way.

1/24th Saloon / Sports

Each driver will then have 8x3minutes segmented runs, with only 4 lanes at a time. Reseeding of drivers at half way.
