This class has been run in 2014 and 2015 but for 2016 we have added GT3 cars to the mix. This class is for those who want to race cars that are faster than the standard Scalextric cars. Most drivers race NSR cars which typically cost around £60 - £65. However buying a car is just the start of things. They can be improved in many ways. Pendleslots sell a Scaleauto replacement motor (£12) which gives slightly more acceleration. The next thing is possibly change the gear ratio and/or tyres. The tyres are best glued to the hubs then trued and treated by rubbing oil into them to make them softer. This class is for the racer who wants to learn both how to drive faster cars and how to tune them. If you want advice on just what to do with these cars and how to do it then come along on any Monday and we will be more than happy to let you try a car which has been set up properly. The bscra cars we race at the club, though much faster than these cars, actually work out cheaper to race than the nsr cars but due to lexan bodies and sticker front wheels the bscra cars do not look as attractive as these hard bodied cars.

Race Format.
The club opens at 7pm and the track is available for practise until 7:45. Each driver then has three laps on the lane of their choice to set one fast lap. After all drivers have qualified they are put into groups with the fastest four racing last. The slowest 3 or 4 race first. The race consists of four legs with one 3 minute leg on each lane. After the first group has finished all 4 legs we then have a break for curries. This gives anyone who needs to finish early a chance to race in the bottom group and be finished before 9pm. After the curries the other groups race and the distance covered is recorded for each driver and the overall winner can come from any group. We aim to finish all the groups by 10pm. Points are awarded for each round and the series will be decided by the best 3 scores from 5 rounds of each championship
